NEW WEBSITE AND WINDOWS LIVE

Astro's new website (this one) goes live and starts to rank up.  We hope to keep this website full of information, however we now have a MSN windows live group page which will only be accessable to Astro members, through an invite. The unofficial Astro bebo will still be available but we recommend that you get hooked up with the Window's Live Group.

Easy Fundraising - help us to fundraise while you shop!!

Help your club raise funds, and find yourself a bargain in the process!  Astro has recently joined the Easyfundraising web site.

As many more of us shop online, costs to retailers are greatly reduced, and this allows retailers to offer "donations" based on a percentage, or other value of your purchase.  So here is how it works, Its really simple (honest).

Follow the link below to set up your account and register your cause as Astro Gymnastics West Lothian, thats it !!! Told you it was easy !!!. Oh one more thing when you go shopping on line, go to the easyfundraising website http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/my_account/   log in and find the retailer you want, click their link and now every purchase you make will donate funds to the club, it costs nothing and is simple. Tell your friends and family to do the same and we make money while your save money.

Go here NOW to set up your account - http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/my_account/.  All the big retailers are there so you never need to go anywhere else.

DISPLAY TEAM NEWS
Astro now has a Senior and Junior display team!!  We are so proud to be presenting our Junior Team (as yet unnamed!) at the Scottish Gymnastics Perth Gymfest in November.   They have been selected from the Astro classes and will be performing their Shake It routine, alongside the Senior Team (Team 23) who are performing their adrenaline pumped 'Pendulum' routine for the penultimate time (goodbye old tutu's!).  Both teams have also been invited to Edinburgh Leisure's Christmas Display and the Senior Team to Acrobay's Christmas Display (on the same day).  It's been a great year for Team 23......go team Astro!!
Another great display - Edinburgh Leisure and Acrobay 5th December 2009
We were invited to perform at Edinburgh Leisure's christmas display.  The Junior team were fantastic, they really stood out, brilliant polished routine.  Senior team, another brilliant performance....I think between the two teams we got the biggest cheers!  While the junior team stayed to march on at Meadowbank, the senior team were over the bridge to Fife for Acrobay's Christmas display where we performed the Pendulum routine for the last time, I have to admit I had a tear in my eye.  So long tutu's!

Perth Gymfest, 15th November 2009

Well, what can we say!!  We took 2 teams to Perth and they performed outstandingly.  The junior team performed their Shake It routine, with some new members, and looked amazing, definately the smiliest group of the day.  The senior team pulled off a close to flawless performance with their Pendulum routine.  Well done everyone...next stop Meadowbank.

COMPETITION NEWS
It's been a successful 2009 as far as competition work is concerned.  We achieved Silver Medals at the British Championships, dozens of medals at the Scottish Championships and East of Scotland Championships.  We ran a very successful Club Championships for NDP routines as well as an individual age group competition which every gymnast in the club had the opportunity to take part in.  This is a great way of getting gymnasts involved in competition in a relaxed environment and was very popular, we will definately be repeating this format next year.
Jumblies Christmas Competition 13th Dec 2009
Well done to all gymnasts who took part yesterday.  This is a fun competition and a great opportunity for new gymnasts, or gymnasts moving up a grade, to compete at Avondale before the main competitions next year.  The judges were impressed at the progress we have made this year and all the new competitors did very well and looked confident and happy on the competition floor.
